Family Night! Wednesday 6:30 pm

Every Wednesday, we start at 6:30 with dinner-which is a time to share, talk, laugh, and eat; at time to know each other, and ourselves better.

Later at 7:00, we start with a reflection on the Bible. Our point of focus is on the book of Acts.

Here, we want to learn the principles under which the early church was built upon. We have learned the task that Jesus has given us before ascending into heaven: “And he told them, ‘You are My witnesses… to the ends of the Earth.” Here he extends the size of the ordinary task from Jerusalem to Judea and Samaria and to the whole world.

Then we reviewed how this immense congregation began to grow, not only in number, but also in faith and love. And they did this by persevering in the church and in their houses every day.

Last week, we remembered the words of Peter:” I do not have gold nor silver, but what I do have I will give you.” The great gift that we can share that is worth much more than gold is our faith, the love of God, hope, along with our readiness for the call to give...

Why is there a ministry in the Nursing Home?

August  2016

In His Word, God tells us in different occasions about our Christian duties. When He talks about true religion, He calls us to visit orphans and widows in their tribulations (James 1:27). In another occasion, God calls us to “love mercy” (Micah 6:8). When Jesus talks about the “judgement of Nations” (Matthew 25:31-46), he makes a reference to those who “saw me sick and visited me, and who saw me cold and naked and gave me clothing… for as long you’ve done it to even the smallest person, you’ve done it to me.” These are a few of the many reasons for which God invites us to go serve the community of people living in the nursing home. It is not only because we are obeying God, but also we are being blessed by being a church outside of its building. Every Saturday from 10 to 11 AM, we meet in the chapel of the nursing home with 30 people to worship God and to pray and share his message of love and hope. We can feel the presence of God in this place, in sharing with our new brothers and sisters.

SERVING THE COMMUNITY!

August 2016

The Lord has blessed us with the new Mobile Food Pantry. The Food Bank of San Antonio approached us looking for a place that would like to be the distribution center for the Mobile Food Pantry in Pearsall, Texas. We welcomingly received this opportunity trusting that it will be God who will provide for us not only in financial resources, but also in volunteers who will help us in this ministry.

The next 19th of August from 2:00-4:00 PM, we will be receiving and distributing food here in the yard of our church. The vouchers will be given Sunday August 14 from 12:00-1:00 PM and Wednesday 17th from 9:00-12:00 PM.

This work we believe will bless more than 150 families in the community, giving a little breathing room for families in need. It is our prayer that this ministry grows and be established once a month in our church.

LLAMADO A SERVIR!!!

QUIEN PUEDE PENSAR QUE JESUCRISTO DEJO SU GLORIA Y VINO A ESTA TIERRA A SUFRIR UNA MUERTE TERRIBLE, PARA PAGAR POR NUESTRO PECADOS, PARA SALVARNOS Y PARA DARNOS LA CIUDADANIA CELESTIAL. (TODO LO HIZO POR NOSOTROS) Y EN RESPUESTA A TAN GRANDE AMOR – LO QUE PENSAMOS ES QUE LO UNICO QUE PIDE DIOS DE NOSOTROS ES ASISTIR LOS DOMINGOS UNA HORA AL TEMPLO. USTED CREE QUE PARA ESO FUIMOS SALVADOS? , USTED QUE CRISTO MURIO POR NOSOTROS SOLO PARA QUE ASISTAMOS EL DOMINGO A LA IGLESIA? NO ESPERA DIOS MUCHO MAS QUE ESO DE NOSOTROS?

PIENSA UN MOMENTO Y RESPONDE: PARA QUE DIOS ME SALVO? Y COMO AGRADEZCO ESA SALVACION? TE ESTOY INVITANDO A SERVIR!

NOVIEMBRE 2016

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

The season of Thanksgiving is here again and with it the joy of giving thanks. 2016 is not an exception, we can look back and see many reasons to give thanks to the Lord. I give thanks for all of the blessings and opportunities we use to celebrate the care and love of our God. We should apply ourselves to celebrate our God of Grace who leads us and blesses us through all of the challenges of this year.

The world tells us that we shouldn’t give thanks for everything, but God call us to be thankful for everything. This is the correct attitude for Christians because our thankfulness does not depend on the circumstances but on the faith that God is bringing forth in the middle of all this.

God calls us as Christians to offer a “sacrifice of worship” with our whole lives. And although “sacrifice” is a term that we don’t like, it is the right term for those who can’t find a reason for which to be thankful. The sacrifice of worship and gratitude is a trial through which we all must pass through and even through the pain, we must give thanks for things that we can’t enjoy, we can’t forget that God through Christ realized for us a sacrifice that is even greater.

Whether we feel thankful or not, the gift of life is the same. The life that is abundant in Christ is more than enough to know that we must be thankful to God. The act of giving (or returning what belongs to Him) with abundance and blessing must, inside of us, become a discipline in that we learn the joy of sacrifice of giving, for which we were made to do for His glory. (Romanos 12:1)

And that the peace of God that comes over any understanding take care over our hearts and our mind, keeping us in His path. Truly… “Let thanks be given to God.”

To help us give an expression of healthy thankfulness to each of us, the envelope for donations for acts of thanks is provided in your bulletin or in the pews of the church for your offering as a personal act of thanks with which we sustain the life and testimony of this congregation. Let’s go and rejoice in the offering of a sacrifice of worship this year.
